Dillon & Hailey
The Journey

What started as a typical night out in Iowa City turned into forever.
After a few too many bevraginos, Dillon somehow managed to ask Hailey to breakfast the very next morning. Against all odds, she said yes.
Life had other plans, though. They went their separate ways, but never really let go of each other. Through different cities, different chapters, they never stopped checking in.
Looking back, maybe it was what people call the red string theory: no matter how far apart they wandered, they always found their way back to one another.
The phone calls never stopped. The random check-ins continued. Long distance back and forth trips between Chicago and Florida continued until one day, Hailey decided enough was enough. She packed a suitcase, flew to Florida, and moved in with Dillon for “just one month” to see what would happen.
Turns out, one month was all it took.
That summer, Dillon packed up and squeezed into her tiny 364-square-foot Chicago apartment for the summer. And a few months later, he got down on one knee.
Since then, they’ve filled their lives with adventures, spontaneous trips, plenty of laughs, and the occasional “How did we end up in this situation?” moments. No matter what comes their way, they always find their way through it, together.
Now, their greatest adventure is bringing them to a castle in the Italian hills, surrounded by the people they love most.
Thank you for being part of our story. We can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of the Kidds with all of you.

About
Castello Alidosi
We’re saying our vows at Castello Alidosi, a medieval castle tucked into the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines between Florence and Bologna. Olive groves, lavender fields, and an infinity pool looking out over the hills. It’s the kind of place you don’t want to leave.
And you won’t have to right away. Our celebration unfolds over three days, with time to actually be together, wander the villages, and linger over long Italian dinners.

Travel & Accommodations
Getting Here
We know traveling to Italy may feel like a big adventure, especially if it’s your first time visiting Europe, but we promise it’s easier than it sounds! Castello Alidosi is nestled in the beautiful countryside of Castel del Rio, making the journey part of the experience. Whether you’re planning a quick wedding getaway or turning this into an Italian vacation, there are several easy ways to get here.
Fly into Florence
Florence Airport is the closest major airport to the venue, and from there it’s about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive through the stunning Tuscan countryside. Renting a car at the airport is simple and gives you the flexibility to explore the area at your own pace. Plus, Florence is an incredible city to spend a day or two before the wedding!
Fly into Rome
If you find a better flight into Rome, that’s a wonderful option as well. After arriving at Rome Fiumicino Airport, you can rent a car and enjoy a scenic 3.5 to 4 hour drive north to the castle. Many guests may choose to spend a few days exploring Rome before making their way to the wedding, and we highly recommend it if your schedule allows.
Train to Bologna
If you’d rather not drive from one of the larger cities, another great option is taking Italy’s high-speed train to Bologna. Then a bus will take you directly to the town of Castel del Rio (2 hours 45 min). Whether you’re arriving in Florence or Rome, the train ride is comfortable, easy to navigate, and a fun way to experience Italy. Once you arrive in Bologna, you can rent a car for the final one-hour drive to the castle through the picturesque countryside.
Because our venue is located in a charming hill town, we do recommend renting a car for the easiest and most flexible travel experience. Google Maps and Apple Maps work great throughout Italy, and the roads to the castle are well-traveled and incredibly beautiful. We also encourage guests to arrive a day or two early if possible so you can relax, adjust to the time change, and enjoy everything Italy has to offer before the celebrations begin.
No matter which route you choose, we promise the journey will be worth it. We can’t wait to welcome you to Italy and celebrate this unforgettable weekend together!
Where to Stay
There is a hotel in the town called Gallo Hotel. We highly encourage you to book early to secure your stay!
